How fashion and beauty creators earn from affiliate links and brand deals in India

Most fashion and beauty creators in India earn in two ways: a commission when followers buy what they wear or use, and fees from brands for reels and stories. This guide shows how to set up both from the link in your bio, and how to label paid content the way Indian advertising rules ask.

Join the affiliate programmes first

An affiliate link pays you a small share of each sale it brings. Join the programmes of the shops your followers already buy from, and note your tag or ID for each one.

Add each product as an affiliate card

  1. Open Page and choose Affiliate product, any shop.
  2. Paste the Product link and choose Fill from link. Check the Title and the Picture it finds, or add your own photo.
  3. Add the Price in rupees (optional), or a note such as "Around ₹900" in Or a price note (optional) if the price changes often.
  4. Save and publish. Repeat for each piece or product.

Every affiliate card shows Affiliate link and a line that says you may earn a commission, so the label is never missed. To add your Amazon and Flipkart tags once, open Settings and choose Add your tags. Links from those two shops that do not already carry a tag get yours added. Links from other shops go out exactly as you paste them, so paste the link from that programme.

Tag every piece of a look with Shop my looks

  1. Open Shop my looks and choose New look.
  2. Add the Outfit photo, type the Name of the look, pick a Collection if you use them, and choose Create look.
  3. Under Paste the link to an item, paste the shop link for each piece and choose Add item. The name, price and picture fill in when the shop shares them. Check them with Edit. A look can have up to 8 items.
  4. To show numbers on the photo, tick Show numbered dots on the photo, save, then use Place dot on each item and tap the photo where it is.
  5. Choose Publish. Your page shows the look photos, and each look opens with its items listed under the photo.

Group looks into collections such as Diwali looks, Office wear or Under ₹2,000. Taps on Shop go through your page, so Stats shows how many people opened each look and tapped each item. Amazon and Flipkart links get your tag from Settings in the same way as affiliate cards.

For a quick gallery without tagged items, an Image grid with three to twelve photos still works, with one link on each photo.

Share brand discount codes

When a brand gives you a code, add a Discount code block. Fill in the Code, a line in Details (optional), the Shop link (optional) and the Last day (optional). Followers copy the code with one tap, and the block hides itself after 11:59 pm IST on the last day. Copies and taps show up in your stats, which helps when the brand asks how the code did.

Turn brand DMs into paid deals

  • Media kit: your followers, average views, engagement, top cities and past brands, with Download as PDF for brands that want a file. How to make a media kit as an Instagram creator has every field.
  • Rate card: your price for a reel, a story or a bundle. Tick Starting from where the brief changes the price.
  • Brand enquiry form: tick Ask brands for their budget. Every enquiry lands in Deals, on a board from New to Paid.

Label paid posts and gifts

Indian advertising rules ask creators to label paid posts, affiliate links and gifts. On your page, links, products, images and embeds have a Label this as setting with Ad, Paid partnership, Affiliate and Gifted. Label your posts on Instagram too. For beauty products, describe what you use and how it worked for you, and leave out claims about treating skin conditions.
